What do you (or did you) do/say?: Well seeing as this has already happened to me, I tell him/her that I understand their feelings, but I just can’t reciprocate them for fear of ruining the friendship.

It was just a couple hours ago. It was the girl I like, Gaby, and I had to tell her that I still had feelings for her. It was really nerve-wracking, but I think it’s going well.
